Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.3 Argerich/Chailly/RSO Berlin - HQ-Audio
I know this has been posted already several times - anyway, in this version I combined the audio from the available CD with the video from my old VHS (with mediocre quality). I don't know if one can hear the difference to other uploads.....
There are some parts where video and audio are not in sync - this is due to the fact, that we did some small patches right after the concert (audio only).
Posted in admiration of the great MA and in memory of one of my first concerts with the RSO Berlin, which I will never forget...
Recorded live Dec 5th and 6th 1982 @Berlin Philharmonic Hall

I found this on an old audio tape from my grandma - unfortunately it says only "old cellists"...;-)) It is definetly a historic recording, but it is not the wellknown one by Feuermann/Taube... The only other one I know is from Gutia Casini, which is not this one It was recorded from a 78rpm record - you could hear the rest between the two sides..... Unfortunately the last bars are missing, so I...

Dvorak Cello Concerto Mischa Maisky RSO Saarbrücken/Chung 1984
Beautiful! ❤️
Dream team quartet and a clarinet giant. AMAZING!
Excellent performance overall and an effective conductor. Sorry to hear the disappointing (to both the player and the conductor, if not the audience) problems/glitches encountered by the horn player at 36:18.
So what‘s the problem with a musician missing a note? They are all human beings. This comment is a perfect reflection of today’s perverted view on music. Everything has to be perfect. This makes today’s performances so replaceable - in order to make no mistakes nobody risks anything anymore. But music thrives on risks. So why not just stay with your opinion of an „excellent performance „ and that’s it?
This is the superlative level of interpretation and pianistic craftsmanship. Gilels was born with the only mission to play the piano, there are few like him.
You are totally right
@@MariaEskelinen Thank you for your kind approval. You would be a pianist? I am just an amateur violinist and I worship the vast ocean which is Bach.
Fantastic!
Qué obra tan épica e impresionante.

Do you have any more recordings?

How is Eduard Brunner playing a Boehm system and not a German system clarinet? He was principal clarinet of the Bavarian Radio Symphony; surely he would have had to play German system there, no?
The mayor of Lazytown plays a good cello
Years later Starker had softened his opinion probably b/c he had an epiphany that his talent came from Mother Nature. P.S: If one knows the geography [this skill is given by Mother Nature] of the cello, you got it made.
Toujours un plaisir de l'écouter !
fantastic. best lenski aria
Perfection by the master
3 masters at play here: Bach the genius, Aleksandr Zilote who wrote this beautiful arrangement, and Emil Gilels giving us a heavenly interpretation
@@gijsschubert7901 yes I absolutely agree .
Браво!👏👏👏Bravo!👏👏👏🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
What does Mr Starker play in the beginning of this video?
Cassado
Thank you!

Mesmerizing, eloquent, peerless.

Thank you for sharing~~~
The 11 song marathon begins at 1:32!
What a sad loss Gilels was. A remarkable pianist, nay an astonishing musician. The Soviet Union of this era had some outstanding musicians but for me Gilels is supreme with only Richter close.
Thank you for your kind words about our Soviet piano school! It was unsurpassed art... I advise you to listen to Tatyana Nikolaeva and Maria Yudina.
To me, this quintet is the epitome of classical music all across the Romantic Period right up to 20th century Nobody, I mean nobody, not even Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Mahler, whosoever the "Great" might be... None of their work, not their chamber pieces nor their symohonies, ever come close to this quintet... The viola, violins, cello and the clarinet, they were One in this piece, one voice, one soul. Btw... outstanding performance❤
Einfach nur super, danke

Fiendishly difficult to play (apparently) and a large, important work full of marvels. It should be played a lot more.

I can definitely hear a huge influence of Vincent Persichetti's Symphony No.6 on this piece.
The bass heard in the strings at the beginning STILL gove me chills...even these many 25 years later. Amazing piece!
The greatest composer of all time.
Magic 😍
Bohemian soul unleashed:)
I only wish there were more concert videos of her performances. Such a brilliant cellist.
Fantastic, i am a cellist for two years now but i really love this with a loop-device .. Is that a loop station from the brand BOSS ?
Not over the top, not self-indulgent, and certainly not boring. Just a good old “classic” performance that you will not be tired of even if you listen to it thousands of times.
Certainly one of the most underrated conductors of all time!

Splendid!
